About The Position

California Faucets is seeking a 1st Shift Polisher for its Huntington Beach, CA facility. This is a full-time, on-site role with hours from Monday through Friday, 5:15 AM to 2:00 PM. The company specializes in artisan-crafted brass fixtures with over 30 finishes, requiring high standards of metal finishing. The Polisher plays a critical role in achieving these standards. Responsibilities include sandblasting, operating polishing lathe machines, metal plating, living finish application, electro-stripping, and preparing parts for finishing. The role also involves returning finished parts to inventory, scanning production tickets into the ERP system using barcode scanners and personal computers, and performing additional assignments as directed. Responsibilities

  • Sandblasting with high-pressure air equipment to clean and prepare surfaces such as brass or other metals.
  • Manually directing a nozzle over the surface of large parts or inserting arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulating small parts under the nozzle for a specified interval during sandblasting.
  • Operating polishing lathe machines on metal surfaces to correct defects, smooth, satin, and prepare surfaces and polish materials.
  • Setting up and operating polishing equipment, including coating the buffing wheel with a compound stick.
  • Holding and moving parts against the buffing wheel until the part is smooth, satin, and free of defects or plating effects.
  • Maintaining buffing materials and equipment, including buffers, finishing wheels, and finishing machines.
  • Applying metal plating and living finishes using various chemical solutions, which involves racking or wiring parts, dipping parts in chemical baths and rinse tanks, drying parts with forced air, and cleaning or waxing the finished product.
  • Processing living finishes using burnishing machines, which requires exposure to nut shells.
  • Performing electro-stripping to remove the outer chrome-plated layer by racking parts and dipping them in electrically charged chemical baths, followed by rinsing and drying.
  • Peeling or unwrapping parts in preparation for further finishing, which includes verifying the type and quantity of parts against the production order form and staging them in trays.
  • Returning finished parts to inventory.
  • Scanning production tickets into the ERP computer system and advancing them to the next stage of assembly or production using barcode scanners and personal computers.
  • Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
