Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience (as a busser, dishwasher, or runner) is a plus, but entry-level candidates with high attention to detail are welcome.
- Fast, efficient hand movements with low breakage rates on delicate glass.
- Strong visual acuity to detect faint water spots, streaks, or cracks.
- Ability to work rhythmically under fast-paced, high-volume dining room rushes.
Responsibilities
- Inspect washed forks, knives, and spoons; steam and polish them using clean microfiber cloths or run them through a commercial grain/cutlery polisher machine.
- Steam and hand-polish wine glasses, water goblets, and bar glassware using lint-free polishing towels to guarantee crystal-clear presentation.
- Sort polished items by type, check for remaining water spots or chips, roll silverware into napkins (if required), and restock service stations for servers.
- Periodically polish decorative brass fixtures, copper serving trays, or wood accent tables using food-safe polishing compounds during pre-service prep.
- Keep the polishing area clean, organized, and stocked with clean microfiber towels, hot water baths, or steaming equipment throughout the shift.
