About The Position
CompX National is hiring a Polisher / Finisher on our 2nd Shift. This role involves operating various machinery to polish, buff, and finish metal parts, ensuring they meet quality standards. The work area can become warm during summer months, and the position requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Requirements
- Must have attention to detail and work in a very safe manner
- Required to hold pipe up to 10 pounds for at least 10 minutes at a time
- Must be able to work in a team setting
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Responsibilities
- Operate polishers, buffers, and/or other special equipment
- Safely operate machinery for polishing, buffing, and dull brushing
- Use specialty machinery (belt sanders, grinders, buffers) and abrasive compounds to smooth and shine metal parts
- Wear special dept protective equipment/suit
- Inspect parts for imperfections, defects, cracks, etc
- Keep work area clean and safe at all times
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as necessary
- Follow all safety procedures
