Anthropic is seeking a new member for its Central Policy team to build and lead the Partnerships and Convenings function. This role is responsible for policy strategy with a wide range of multinational civil society organizations, industry actors, and other third parties, as well as the events through which policy relationships are built and sustained. The successful candidate will manage a team of Policy Partnerships and Policy Events experts, ensuring their work is strategically coherent, globally scalable, and accountable to Anthropic's policy goals. The Central Policy team supports Anthropic's broader policy function, working closely with federal affairs, state and local affairs, international affairs, national security, policy communications, and research teams. This is a builder's role requiring the establishment of credible partnership and events programs at speed, serving as a bridge between Anthropic's internal teams and external policy stakeholders. Anthropic operates as a research lab, policy think-tank, and technology startup, prioritizing the safe development of AI systems and building partnerships through proactive, substantive policy conversations. Success requires being a trusted partner to both internal colleagues and external actors. The role involves approximately 25% travel, including international travel and travel to Anthropic offices.
