About The Position

ACORE is seeking a Policy Intern to help advance clean energy through education, collaboration, and supportive finance. ACORE is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes investment in American clean energy infrastructure, development, and innovation. ACORE’s membership includes clean energy investors, developers, energy buyers, power generators, manufacturers, and energy providers. The ideal candidate has strong skills in research and writing as well as a desire to impact positive change on clean energy policy. Interns will report to the Director, Policy & Engagement. This internship is paid at $19.00 per hour and can be conducted on a hybrid or remote basis.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program.
  • At least 20 hours of internship availability per week throughout the fall semester.
  • Demonstrated interest in clean energy.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
  • An ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership over projects and assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on a variety of topics, potentially including clean energy project finance, energy project permitting, and the impacts of electricity demand growth.
  • Track and analyze legislation that affects clean energy investment and development.
  • Assist with the drafting of reports, blog posts, fact sheets, and other documents, as necessary.
  • Attend ACORE conferences and webinars as appropriate.
