The New York City Mayor’s Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The administration is leading the fight in making the city more affordable, reducing inequality, improving public safety, ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services, and working to make New York City’s economy stronger. The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services is responsible for ensuring that agencies that oversee the City’s social services are run compassionately, equitably, and effectively, and that the City’s public health and healthcare delivery systems deliver results for all New Yorkers. This role will provide project management, analytical, research, and administrative support for the team, liaising with Advisors and completing special projects. This position will require project management support related to policy initiatives, as well as administrative work, including scheduling for team members and general organizational work. Tasks may include interacting with Advisors and staff from agencies in the Health and Human Services’ portfolio to track relevant implementation plans and program needs; reviewing relevant data, studies, and reports produced by subject-matter experts and summarizing for an executive-level audience; producing background and position memos and fact sheets to support executive decision-making; and drafting talking points and public-facing materials. This position will focus on supporting programs and initiatives in the portfolio around older adults, youth and young adults, people with disabilities, and other specialized populations.
