About The Position

The ministry also fosters stronger, safer communities across the province, and enables local governments to facilitate Alberta’s economic prosperity.

Requirements

  • University graduation in a related field plus 6 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
  • Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
  • Extensive applied policy experience in a government setting is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in developing materials for Cabinet decisions within the Government of Alberta is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead policy development including project plans, Cabinet Reports, decision documents, briefing notes, and legislative or regulatory proposals.
  • Track and analyzing key issues and emerging trends affecting the provincial-municipal relationship.
  • Develop clear, concise briefing materials and recommendations into actionable advice for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, legal counsel, and stakeholders across government to ensure alignment and consistency of approaches.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to members of the team while contributing to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and a positive team environment.
