About The Position

The City of Thibodaux is accepting online applications for the position of Police Trustee Guard. The primary responsibilities are to supervise the work being performed by trustees. This is accomplished by ensuring trustees do not make physical contact with the public while trustees are performing word duties such as painting curbs, setting up and taking down barricades; washing police vehicles; cleaning litter off the sides of city streets. Police Trustee Guards will also assist the shift as needed with any law enforcement duties to include, traffic control, working details and special events such as fairs, festivals and parades.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Pass Civil Service Examination.
• Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License.
• Pass criminal background check.
• Pass psychological test.
• Within one year of employment, must complete and maintain Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) at Level 1 - Basic Law Enforcement Peace Officer or a minimum of Level 3-Correctional Officer.

Responsibilities
