About The Position

The City of El Cajon is seeking motivated individuals to join their Police Department as a Police Recruit. This role is part of the Regional Police Academy and involves a rigorous selection process including a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) and POST PELLETB Exam. Requirements

• Submit applications and attachments by the deadline.
• Possess a valid outside PELLETB score.
• PELLETB T-Score must be from an exam taken within 6 months of the PELLETB test date (on or after April 24, 2026).
• PELLETB T-Score must be 42.0 or higher.
• Pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
• Pass the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) with a T-Score of 42.0 or higher.

• Possession of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Undergo the Regional Police Academy training.

• Complete the Personal History Statement.
• Successfully navigate a Panel Interview.
• Pass a Polygraph examination.
• Complete a Pre-Investigative Questionnaire.
• Attend a Captain’s Interview.
• Successfully complete a Background Investigation.
• Pass a Chief’s Interview.
• Undergo a psychological examination.
• Pass a pre-employment medical examination.
