About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Police Department (NDPD) is seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who want to work in a positive team atmosphere. The campus is comparable to a small town with community members from all over the world. Currently Certified Law Enforcement Officers are preferred, however applicants meeting the minimum requirements will also be considered. The Notre Dame Police Department is a full-service police department recognized by the State of Indiana with the authority to enforce Indiana State Laws, make arrests, and conduct criminal investigations.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid vehicle Operator License
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies
  • Ability to supervise and adapt to rapidly changing situations, making appropriate decisions under stressful circumstances
  • Must maintain strong customer service focus even in difficult policing situations
  • Must meet minimum standards regarding acceptance for training by the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board as specified in Indiana Administrative Code Title 250 Rule 3

Nice To Haves

  • Indiana Law Enforcement Academy is preferred or the equivalent
  • Certified Officers will have an expedited hiring process
  • College Degree
  • Tier I Certified Police Officer or the equivalent
