About The Position

The Village of Fox Crossing is seeking a Police Officer to protect and serve the citizens while enforcing the laws of the State of Wisconsin and municipal ordinances of the Village of Fox Crossing. The work is performed under the direction of the patrol lieutenant. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience are eligible for competitive lateral entry. Requirements

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university or technical college.
  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Applicant must be eligible for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification.
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Applicant must be able to possess a firearm, no felony convictions, no domestic abuse convictions.
  • Applicant must be able to give credible testimony in a court of law.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of this position.
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the streets, highways, and public areas of the community.
  • Investigate traffic accidents.
  • Enforce state statues, local ordinances, and traffic laws.
  • Administer aid to persons injured until First Responder or ambulance personnel arrive.
  • Respond to and investigate all incidents assigned.
  • Arrest or refer persons who violate State statutes or Village ordinances.
  • Prepare reports for processing.
  • Prepare all additional forms and paperwork as required by policy.
  • Testify in court when summoned.
  • Check homes of citizens on vacations.
  • Complete security checks of businesses.
  • Assist other Village departments or other law enforcement agencies when requested.
  • Assist citizens with vehicle lockouts when possible.
