In addition to base salary, incentives available to Police Officers include: Associate Degree 2.5% Bachelor Degree 5% Second language 1.25% DPSST Intermediate Certificate 2.5% DPSST Advanced Certificate 4.0% Note: Associate Degree is not cumulative.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
  • Meet physical standards as set by the Department of Public Safety on Standards and Training (DPSST).
  • Valid driver's license, with the ability to obtain an Oregon Class C Driver's License within 30 days of employment.
  • Obtain DPSST Basic Police Certificate following completion of training, within 12 months of employment.
  • Obtain Law Enforcement Data System Certificate within 60 days of assignment.
  • Residency requirement: forty-five (45) minutes from City limits as it exists within the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB).
  • Pass the ORPAT (physical ability) and firearms requirements prior to graduation at the Oregon DPSST Police Academy.
  • Submit City Application.
  • Submit Supplemental Questionnaire.
  • Submit Resume.

  • Show proof of citizenship with 18 months of hire.
