About The Position

The Civil Service Commission of Marion, Ohio will conduct a two-phase entrance examination for the position of Patrol Officer in the Police Department. This is a civil service examination notice.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and not have reached their 35th birthday by the date of the written examination.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Basic Police Academy certification or be eligible to obtain it.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a written examination.
• Must be able to pass a physical agility test.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation.
• Must be able to pass a medical examination.
• Must be able to pass a psychological examination.
• Must be able to pass an oral interview board.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Prior law enforcement experience.
• Military experience.
