About The Position

The Town of Prosper is currently accepting applications for a Non-Sworn Police Officer Recruit. This position performs law enforcement and crime prevention work, controls traffic flow and enforces State and local traffic regulations, performs investigative work and other special assignments, and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the Department. This is a non-sworn position acting under the general supervision of a police sergeant. Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED with 12 college credit hours for the GED.
Must be a United States citizen.
Applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age to apply and must be 21 years of age upon graduating from the Police Academy.
Applicants with military experience require discharge be under honorable conditions.
No felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions; no Class B misdemeanor convictions within the past 10 years.
Must be able to pass the police academy and state licensing test(s).
Must meet and maintain all regulatory requirements for Texas Police Officer License.
Must obtain and maintain all required departmental and TCOLE certifications.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, psychological test, physical assessment, criminal background check and post-offer physical exam.
Must possess State of Texas Drivers License at the time of employment.

Officer Salary Range: $80,000 - $87,872.00
