About The Position
The City of Edinburg is conducting a civil service written examination for the position of Entry-Level Police Officer. This is an opportunity to join the Edinburg Police Department. Eligibility lists created from this examination will be valid for six months, with the possibility of a new examination being offered at the end of that period or sooner if needed. Applicants with a Valid Peace Officer's license through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCOLE) may receive preference. Applicants requiring assistance due to a disability should contact Human Resources/Civil Service at least one week prior to the exam. All applicants must present a valid Driver License for identification, undergo a complete background investigation, and pass a pre-employment drug test.
