About The Position

This position requires an individual to attain and remain current in all certifications necessary for eligibility for Police Officer III. Additionally, candidates must have satisfactory completion of the required probationary period. The role involves three years of experience as a police officer, or equivalent service time with another law enforcement agency in a similar job description. Candidates must also have no written disciplinary actions, disciplinary suspensions, and/or involuntary demotions within the past twelve months that would exclude them. A vocational school diploma supplemented by a minimum of five years of experience in a job-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, is required. A valid South Carolina Driver's License and the ability to use a firearm are also necessary.

Requirements

• Attain and remain current in all certifications described for eligibility for Police Officer III
• Satisfactory completion of the required probationary period
• Three (3) years as a police officer (Equivalent service time with another law enforcement agency in a similar job description may be utilized to meet or exceed the three (3) years requirement)
• No written disciplinary actions, disciplinary suspension and/or involuntary demotion within the past twelve months that would exclude the candidate
• Vocational School Diploma supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a job-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License
• Ability to use a firearm
