About The Position

The Town of Hudson, Colorado, is seeking a Police Chief for this growing Front Range community. The Town of Hudson is a full-service home-rule municipality serving approximately 1,640 residents across nearly 2.3 square miles with a 2026 budget of $17.7 million and a team of 34 FTEs. The Hudson Police Department, established in 2019, is a municipal law enforcement agency protecting the Town of Hudson, Colorado. The Department operates with a 2026 budget of $2.6 million and responded to nearly 10,000 calls for service in 2025, reflecting a 150% increase in call volume over the past four years. The Department is staffed by 11 sworn officers and 3 unsworn staff, with additional support from 2 part-time victim advocates and a reserve chaplain. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Hudson Police Department, build a strong culture of excellence, and partner with the community to ensure exceptional service delivery. Requirements

  • Experience as a Police Chief or in a similar leadership role within law enforcement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a strong culture of excellence.
  • Proven experience in community-oriented policing.
  • Ability to partner with the community and Town leadership.
  • Experience managing a law enforcement budget.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $150,000 – $175,000 annually DOQ
