About The Position

The Pole Removal Lineman A (Non-Energized) assists the Foreman with the safe and efficient removal of existing utility poles on de-energized distribution systems. This position is responsible for supporting pole removal operations, maintaining a safe work environment, operating equipment, and assisting the crew in completing projects on schedule. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of overhead line construction or utility experience.
  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate bucket trucks and digger derricks.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of utility line construction experience.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Experience with utility pole removal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Foreman in preparing the jobsite and completing daily work activities safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect existing utility poles prior to removal.
  • Assist with the removal of non-energized utility poles and associated hardware.
  • Assist with excavation, backfilling, and restoration activities related to pole removal.
  • Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other assigned equipment.
  • Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and removed poles.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Support the training and development of apprentices and new crew members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
