About The Position

Balance Health is a comprehensive lower-extremity-focused physician practice that provides operational support to podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists. The company is hiring a Podiatrist in Cupertino, California. Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Podiatrist provides routine podiatric care and referral services to patients, including examination, diagnosis, treatment, wound care, prescribing, patient education, and medical-record maintenance.

Requirements

• Ability to observe, assess, and accurately record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Full knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
• Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
• Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills to support effective working relationships with diverse patients, colleagues, and vendors.
• Good understanding of effective time management and the ability to meet scheduling and administrative requirements.
• PC proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR, and various databases.
• Ability to provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation, including a credit check, and have a clean DMV report.
• Current active license as a Podiatrist in the State of California.
• Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an accredited school of podiatry.
• Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program.
• Minimum of three years of applicable professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases and determine care needs.
• Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles.
• Perform wound care management.
• Diagnose foot and ankle diseases and deformities using medical histories, physical examinations, X-rays, and laboratory test results.
• Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery as appropriate.
• Advise patients about treatment plans and foot and ankle care techniques to help prevent future problems.
• Provide education and consultation to patients, family members, and health care team members.
• Provide patients with health promotions and preventive medication.
• Maintain appropriate medical records for assigned patients, including routine updates.
