About The Position

The CBS News podcast team is seeking a highly organized, full-time Podcast Operations Assistant to support operational, marketing, and production needs across our shows, with a primary focus on the 48 Hours podcast catalog. This role helps support the end-to-end production, distribution, and promotion of CBS podcasts, working closely with producers, marketers, and internal and external partners to ensure assets are delivered accurately, on time, and to spec.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of prior experience in podcast production, marketing, or media operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with podcasting tools (Descript, Riverside, etc.) and audio editing software like Audition and/or ProTools
  • Familiarity with organizational tools (AirTable, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation across production and marketing.
  • Vet potential podcast sponsors for host-read ad production across all CBS News series.
  • Train producers across Paramount on the hosting platform (Amperwave) and related workflows.
  • Help maintain the CBS News and 48 Hours podcast programming calendars.
  • Support team coordination, meeting prep, and other operational tasks for 48 Hours pods.
  • Provide general assistance to improve team efficiency and workflow.
  • Maintain an inventory of core brand resources (key art, promotional assets, style guides) for all CBS News series.
  • Deliver promotional assets for 48 Hours podcasts to press, partners, and collaborators.
  • Traffic audio promo campaigns for all CBS News series to ensure proper placement and scheduling.
  • Build and manage trackable links, pixels, and conversion events for all CBS News series to measure engagement and creative efficacy.
  • Produce select 48 Hours pod promotional assets and copy for digital marketing channels (social, YouTube, web).
  • Prep 48 Hours pod assets for awards consideration and submit entries.
  • Design pre- and post-campaign performance reports and slide decks for 48 Hours pods that summarize results and insights.
  • Research industry trends and partnership/development opportunities.
  • Schedule and set up remote and in-person recordings for 48 Hours podcast series.
  • Mix and upload 48 Hours podcast episodes, place ad breaks, and ensure metadata accuracy.
  • Manage and organize CBS News podcast audio files for fast, reliable access.
  • Ensure timely delivery and on-site setup of materials for hosts and guests involved with 48 Hours podcasts.
