Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Verilog or System Verilog
  • TCL, Python, or Perl
  • EDA or CAD tools
  • Integrated circuit design from RTL to GDSII
  • Block level performance, power, area (PPA)
  • ASIC, mixed signal, and low-power design

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductors and related devices, employing knowledge of electronic theory.
  • Lead definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces/formats for simulation, drive silicon correlation, and deliver systematic improvement.
  • Drive PPA improvements in both pre-silicon and post-silicon design phase and design practices to improve boost frequency for GFXIP.
  • Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate and make technical decisions regarding all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Serve as technical leader across project or departmental boundaries to develop ASIC/layout design, working on issues that impact design or selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to develop resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
  • Apply experience in ASIC Physical Design.
