Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- OR Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Verilog or System Verilog
- TCL, Python, or Perl
- EDA or CAD tools
- Integrated circuit design from RTL to GDSII
- Block level performance, power, area (PPA)
- ASIC, mixed signal, and low-power design
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductors and related devices, employing knowledge of electronic theory.
- Lead definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation.
- Define module interfaces/formats for simulation, drive silicon correlation, and deliver systematic improvement.
- Drive PPA improvements in both pre-silicon and post-silicon design phase and design practices to improve boost frequency for GFXIP.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate and make technical decisions regarding all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Serve as technical leader across project or departmental boundaries to develop ASIC/layout design, working on issues that impact design or selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
- Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
- Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to develop resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
- Apply experience in ASIC Physical Design.
