About The Position

Synergy Flavors, part of the Carbery Group, is seeking a PMO Project Manager to join their growing PMO team. This role is crucial for bridging project execution and organizational change, involving the management of key cross-functional initiatives and the development of processes, tools, and habits to improve project execution company-wide. The position requires close collaboration with various business teams and senior leadership, offering a blend of structured tasks and the flexibility to adapt and drive progress. The ideal candidate is organized, data-driven, and an effective communicator who can manage ambiguity and multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years in project management, program management, business operations, or consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and a track record of following through
  • Comfortable using data to inform decisions and explain project status
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with people at different levels
  • Able to handle ambiguity and manage multiple priorities without losing focus

Nice To Haves

  • CAPM or PMP certification, or active coursework toward it
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms

Responsibilities

  • Keep project status reporting organized and up to date across the Synergy portfolio for leadership visibility.
  • Manage specific project portfolios from intake through closure, ensuring adherence to standards and preventing oversight.
  • Run training and onboarding for project leaders and end users on project methodologies and tools.
  • Own the execution of strategic company initiatives, including planning, timeline management, and team coordination.
  • Develop detailed project plans considering dependencies, resources, and risks.
  • Ensure cross-functional teams remain aligned and accountable for their commitments.
  • Identify and address potential problems proactively.
  • Manage project closure, including conducting post-mortems and documenting lessons learned.
  • Identify and address inefficiencies in project execution, developing improved and repeatable processes.
  • Help establish project management rhythms such as planning cycles, reporting cadences, and regular meetings.
  • Structure the documentation and sharing of decisions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning as needed.
  • Provide clear and honest updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, timelines, trade-offs, and realistic expectations.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and discussions to ensure project momentum.
  • Build cross-team relationships to foster collaboration.
