About The Position

Abbott Nutrition is seeking a Project Management expert to ensure excellence in the delivery of site projects. This role is responsible for the coordination of site projects including cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, and people management. The PMO Manager manages multiple projects and leads multifunctional teams to achieve objectives. They set goals, ensure they are met, and are responsible for continuous process improvement. This role may be responsible for projects across organizational lines, exercises judgment in planning and organizing work, monitors performance, and reports status. The PMO Manager uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility and may have specific process development and portfolio management activities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
  • Prepares project plans, schedules and budgets by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
  • Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Assures project quality by using standard development methodologies.
  • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
  • Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
  • Consults with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
  • Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
  • Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects.
  • Influences middle management on technical or business solutions.
  • May interact with vendors.
  • Plans and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
  • Accountable for meeting compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
