Responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, components, and engines, troubleshooting complex issues by interpreting technical data like blueprints and manuals, and ensuring equipment is restored to operational condition. A thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, component replacement, sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and non-complex electrical systems is essential. The role also demands detailed knowledge of aircraft-specific tools, providing technical support to engineers and customers, and excellent organizational skills for prioritizing workload to meet delivery schedules. The individual will be responsible for making entries in aircraft logs and records, and guiding lower-level technicians through modifications and maintenance efforts.
