About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible for assisting departmental operations, production, safety, and policy enforcement for the assigned department. The Production Lead will assist in maintaining department work schedules and ensures proper documentation. They will work closely and assist in coordination of the activities involving production paperwork. The role requires understanding and enforcing HACCP and GMP policies, as well as understanding and communicating KPI’s and Safety information daily with employees in their area of responsibility. A high standard of excellence, attention to detail, and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift up to 45 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure department personnel follow the established procedures for start up, operation, and shutdown of the department.
  • Follow production reports and troubleshoot any issues during operation. Offers potential solutions and report any issues daily to supervisor.
  • Ensure prescribed checks and monitoring of all operating equipment are carried out as required.
  • Coordinate employee activities and training for department, with the help of the supervisor and training department.
  • Maintain proper records and logs of activities, operating conditions, and down time.
  • Understand, support, and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ERP, Operating Policies, and Daily’s safety programs.
  • Understand, support and help implement goals and objectives, and continuous improvement plans and activities.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
  • Trains and coaches employees under the direction of the Supervisor.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training new employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving problems.
