About The Position

The Garage General Manager is responsible for managing daily garage operations and ensuring that client, visitor, and guest expectations are exceeded. The manager leads by example through support for the VPNE team, kind coaching, professionalism and integrity, a sharp appearance, organization, strong work ethic, excellent communication, availability, team leadership, and collaboration with clients. The role oversees garage operations, staffing and scheduling, events, revenue controls, equipment and facilities, reporting and budgets, and client relationships. It also develops staff and fosters a positive, supportive work environment while ensuring service delivery and operations comply with VPNE and client policies.

Requirements

Five years of direct staff management experience; service-industry experience preferred.
Five years of revenue control experience with a retail bank, cashiers, and multiple points of service.
Experience with DataPark Parking Software.
Experience with parking gate and loop systems.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, VPNE management, and a wide range of employees, and to motivate staff and provide constructive feedback.
Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn new software quickly.
Ability to handle employee-relations issues and follow progressive discipline steps.
Ability to work independently within company guidelines.
Proactive, customer-focused, and responsive approach.
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving ability.
Flexibility to manage and support events and special functions, including Red Sox games.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
Service-industry experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee garage operations, including safety, service, team appearance, and garage cleanliness.
Manage garage staff schedules, timesheets, and daily and weekly position coverage.
Manage and oversee events, including ball games and onsite events, and undertake other projects as business dictates.
Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff; conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment and develop team members’ leadership skills and growth opportunities.
Investigate and resolve complaints and incidents promptly in accordance with VPNE and client policies.
Partner with Human Resources to implement policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations correctly.
Ensure proper revenue-handling procedures for office safes, pay stations, and the parking management system; follow exception and Pulse Log procedures and VPNE’s Revenue Controls Policy.
Conduct routine garage revenue and integrity audits, including with the appropriate revenue manager.
Observe, troubleshoot, maintain, and report parking equipment and facility issues or improvements; propose upgrades and system enhancements.
Maintain a five-year capital planning plan and manage repairs and work orders with client contacts and outside vendors to keep the facility functioning optimally.
Report problems in a timely manner.
Prepare client monthly reports and packages, daily DCR and deposit logs, monthly DCR reconciliations, monthly validation reports with detailed voucher distribution and order logs, annual budgets, and ad hoc reports; adhere to the budget.
Understand and deliver the client’s definition of success, presenting results impressively and building professional relationships with onsite client customers, vendors, and the hospital community.
Drive operational, marketing, and financial strategies to support service and profitability.
