About The Position

Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift PM Mechanic to join our team in Marengo, IL. Our PM Mechanic will work directly with the Maintenance team to ensure safe diagnostics and maintenance of our truck fleet and equipment. We seek individuals with a leadership mentality and desire to grow with promotional opportunities in this role. Waste Connections offers: Competitive Compensation. Generous matching 401(K). Pay rate: Competitive pay - plus approximately 5-10 hours of overtime weekly (overtime is time and a half after 40). Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) of experience with preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
