As Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will strategically lead the Food & Beverage team to take guest satisfaction to the next level. Fairmont Orchid offers oceanfront dining under Hawaiian skies, where guests gather, celebrate and connect over the most tantalizing flavors Hawaiʻi has to offer. Experiences include offering laidback beach classics by the water, opportunities to swim up to a fresh-catch dinner on the sand, sitting down to a decadent paʻina (feast) in relaxed oceanfront elegance, or taking a culinary journey through Asian culture. Sharing incredible meals is just as much a part of the island experience as our big blue skies, picturesque beaches, pristine coastline and warm island hospitality. Binchotan Bar & Grille is where fireside cooking meets modern flair. At Fairmont Orchid’s hottest new restaurant guests explore the long-running creative culinary exchange between Hawai’i and Japan at our Traditional northern Japanese grill utilizing centuries-old practices of robatayaki: fireside cooking, grilled to perfection. Originating from Hokkaidō, Japan, robatayaki reflects the seafaring lifestyle: seasoned fishermen grilling up their fresh catch over the irori, or glowing white coals, served sizzling hot. In Room Dining is available in all 540 guest rooms & suites. Featuring signature gourmet dishes or hearty just-like-home selections. Perfect for our early-risers who crave breakfast in bed, romantic private dinners or small in-room gatherings. Luana Lounge is an idyllic sunset spot made for intimate celebrations, romantic dates and special gatherings. Fairmont Orchid’s lobby-level lounge features island-inspired, hand-crafted sushi and cocktail in our lobby-level lounge. Guests mark another day of rest and relaxation by sipping chilled wine, specialty drinks and indulge in fresh sushi selections.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar capacity, preferred. Luxury and/or hotel experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skills
  • Ability to focus attention on department needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Good communication and customer contact skills
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Ability to work well in stressful & high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage (Ilocano/Tagalog)
  • Additional certification(s) in Food & Beverage will be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Interact positively with customers, promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties.
  • Maintain communication with all departments to ensure customer services are met.
  • Develops team spirit and motivation by creating a good working atmosphere
  • Ensure food & beverage par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing cost saving and profit enhancing measures.
  • Prepares or checks the work schedules, ensuring that they are consistent with activity forecasts,
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals and sets targets for the team,
  • Prepares the training plans in conjunction with the managers under his/her responsibility and follows them up
  • Helps employees improve their skills and provides support for career development
  • Live and Breath Accor Brand and Service Standards
  • Upon employment, required to fully comply with Fairmont rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.
  • Continuously move throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food and beverage quality and service standards are met.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Ensure that all safety, health, security and loss control policies and procedures and Government legislation are adhered to
  • Follow Food & Beverage policies, procedures and service standards
