About The Position

Alpha Insulation and Waterproofing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PM/Estimator to join their team. This role involves a blend of project management and estimating responsibilities, focusing on preparing bids, managing customer relations, and ensuring project success from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze complex project requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and presenting information effectively.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistics, geometry, and practical applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction as a superintendent, project manager, or estimator.
  • Division 7 experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Attending sales meetings to review bid statuses and receive new assignments.
  • Promoting the company through trade association functions and cultivating customer relations.
  • Preparing detailed, standardized quote letters and bids for prime bidders.
  • Following up on bids, contacting customers to determine competitiveness, and analyzing scope differences with competitors.
  • Analyzing drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine the full scope of work.
  • Anticipating job site working conditions and performing/reviewing take-offs and pricing worksheets.
  • Reviewing and pricing RFIs, RFPs, and new construction documents.
  • Understanding technology and materials to question and evaluate requests from architects and contractors.
  • Logging all bid follow-up with customers in the Alpha Sales database.
  • Negotiating price and scope of work with the successful prime contractor.
  • Performing job file set-up according to the Procedure Manual upon contract award.
  • Negotiating prices and scope of work with sales representatives.
  • Preparing and forwarding submittals to contractors for review and approval.
  • Computing cost factors and preparing estimates for management purposes.
  • Conferring with production teams to assess requirements regarding scheduling, manpower, materials, deliveries, and logistics.
  • Collaborating with manufacturer representatives and contractors to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
  • Researching technology and materials to comprehend inquiries from architects and contractors.
  • Conducting job site visits, attending meetings, and inspecting work for progress, quality, and adherence to schedules.
  • Interfacing with contractors or customers to address concerns and initiate timely documentation.
  • Consulting with clients, vendors, or other parties to resolve issues.
  • Anticipating and addressing deviations from plans or schedules, minimizing risks by taking corrective action.
  • Preparing reports on progress, materials, and site visits.
  • Contributing to production meetings and assisting in billing projections.
  • Following up with clients regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Reviewing job costing, evaluating quantities and production rates, and suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Identifying business development opportunities and sales projections.
  • Submitting reimbursement requests, mileage reports, and time-off requests.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
