The Service Technician is responsible for managing day-to-day repairs, installation, or maintenance on job sites for associated systems or equipment as outlined in the service work order. This includes cleaning, repairing, and servicing customer equipment, preparing new or replacement units for delivery, and repairing units that are rented or leased to clients. The technician will also repair and maintain company-owned equipment and complete other daily tasks assigned by the Service Department Manager. Accurate and timely communication with management regarding service calls, issues, and adjustments is crucial. The role requires maintaining a neat and clean work area and vehicles, careful use of provided tools and equipment, and requisitioning necessary supplies. Accurate record-keeping of hours worked, travel time, and materials used is essential, as is the timely submission of completed paperwork, receipts, and other related documents. The technician must accurately state all work performed on work orders, including any incomplete items, and ensure proper billing of customers, collecting signatures when possible. Assisting with collections or invoicing, handling customer issues, and cheerfully interacting with customers are also key aspects of the role. This includes answering questions about equipment and repairs, offering recommendations for upgrades or additional services, and estimating repair work. Keeping management informed of potential customer problems or complaints and promptly communicating parts needed for repairs is required. The technician will assist customers with information on operating and maintaining installed equipment and submit Customer Satisfaction Surveys. Ensuring all paperwork is turned in promptly, that completed products meet quality standards, and minimizing rework or callbacks are important. The role involves assisting field employees with technical questions and ensuring tools are maintained, repaired, and available on job sites. Standard maintenance tasks for assigned vehicles and equipment must be completed on schedule, with additional maintenance arranged as needed. The ultimate goal is to deliver services that meet or exceed customer expectations for quality while maintaining project budget and goals, and enforcing compliance with all policies and procedures. Any other duties as necessary or assigned by the Service Department Manager or Superintendent will also be performed.
