Metro Plumbing, Heating & Air is offering a 12-week Plumbing Technician Development Program for individuals who want to build a long-term career in residential plumbing service. This program is designed to train future Plumbing Service Technicians who are skilled at diagnosing plumbing problems, communicating clearly with homeowners, and recommending solutions. This is a technician development program, not a licensed plumber apprenticeship. Training is primarily hands-on and field-based, with ride-along experience alongside experienced technicians and limited classroom instruction. During the 12-week program, participants will learn residential plumbing fundamentals, how to diagnose common plumbing problems, how to communicate clearly with homeowners, how to explain plumbing issues in simple terms, how to present repair and replacement options, and how to build trust with customers. The majority of training takes place in the field, working alongside experienced plumbing professionals. Successful participants will be prepared to move into a Plumbing Service Technician role with the company. This role requires strong customer communication skills and comfort with sales conversations. Technicians diagnose plumbing issues, explain problems to homeowners, and present repair and replacement options.
