About The Position

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques is essential
  • Previous experience in home inspections or quality control, especially in construction or plumbing, is highly valued
  • A thorough knowledge of local, state, and national plumbing codes is crucial for ensuring compliance
  • The ability to identify even minor issues in plumbing installations is key to maintaining high-quality standards
  • Inspectors often need to explain findings to builders, contractors, or homeowners, so clear and professional communication is important
  • The ability to recommend solutions for non-compliance or defects is a valuable asset
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in residential plumbing, construction inspection, or quality control.
  • Comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems, installation techniques, materials, and local/state plumbing codes in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building plans.
  • Proficiency in completing inspection reports using digital tools or mobile applications.
  • Strong ability to identify workmanship defects, code violations, and performance issues before they escalate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain inspection findings and corrective actions to contractors, builders, and team members.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to recommend effective solutions for non-compliant installations.
  • Must be able to walk construction sites, climb ladders, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs as needed for inspections.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple inspection assignments independently while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and comply with all safety and OSHA standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Plumbing license, inspection certification, or equivalent technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Examine installations, fixtures, and equipment to ensure they function properly and meet regulatory requirements
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintaining records
  • Spotting violations or non-compliance and recommending corrective actions
  • Advising contractors, plumbers, and property owners on plumbing regulations and safety standards
  • Keep up with changes in plumbing codes, regulations, and industry trends
