About The Position

Assumes the responsibility for providing complete maintenance and repair services to university facilities including but not limited to new construction, repairs, emergencies and preventive maintenance, related to all Plumbing. Utilizing initiative and a variety of skills, the Plumbing Manager is expected to take training, available resources, equipment, supplies to effectively and efficiently accomplish the functions assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 years commercial plumbing experience
  • Plumbing License
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must possess valid NC Driver's license
  • Be knowledgeable in the use of chemicals, diagrams, and blue prints and keep appropriate records of preventive maintenance, all phases of plumbing and sewer, rules and regulations for sanitation requirements.
  • Knowledge of boilers and steam
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
  • Knowledge of /Proficiency with /Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel,
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise independent/good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict/set deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to work past regular hours and occasional weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate records, completing work orders in a timely manner.
  • Report the need for minor and major facilities repair.
  • Assuring the equipment is operating in accordance with manufacture's specifications.
  • Read and applying diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacture's specifications to complete work.
  • Service all building components including all physical, structure and mechanical equipment.
  • Read directions and labels of all chemicals.
  • Perform all phases of plumbing such as, laying pipe, leaky faucets, stopped up commodes, water line breaks, etc.
  • Maintain sewer lines, sewer lift stations and pools.
  • Maintain license required by state.
  • Perform work in confined spaces and climb ladders to perform duties related to work assignments.
  • Operate forklift and aerial lift.
  • Read diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacture's specifications and comprehend information to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to;
