Requirements
- Solid knowledge of plumbing materials, pipe sizing, installation techniques, soldering, brazing, and threading
- Sharp problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues and finding lasting fixes
- Physical stamina — comfortable lifting, working in tight spaces, and handling hands-on tasks
- An eye for detail — leak-free connections, done right the first time
- Strong customer service instincts and clear communication
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and thread pipes to spec
- Install pipes, fittings, and fixtures — toilets, sinks, showers, faucets, water heaters, and garbage disposals
- Install sewer lines, vents, and connect fixtures to the piping system
- Repair broken pipes, faucets, and other plumbing components
- Diagnose and troubleshoot leaks, clogs, and low water pressure
- Clear drains and remove obstructions
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on plumbing systems
- Read blueprints and construction plans to understand layouts
- Estimate materials and labor for projects
- Follow local building codes and safety regulations
- Keep a clean, organized work area
- Communicate clearly with clients, deliver great service, and collect payment on job completion
- Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment
