About The Position

The Plumbing Helper works under the direction of journeyman plumbers and assists plumbing technicians with service, repair, and installation work in residential and commercial construction. Duties include minor repairs, cleaning drains and grease traps, digging ditches, hauling debris, and keeping job sites clear of tools and debris during and after work. The role includes on-the-job training to become a service and repair plumber and participation in the Blue Collar Academy training program for four years. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Receive on-the-job training to become a service and repair plumber.
• Attend the Blue Collar Academy training program for four years.
• Assist the assigned plumbing technician.
• Learn and meet role qualifications and expectations.
• Gain feedback from peers and supervisors.
• Assist journeyman plumbers with minor repairs and plumbing installation in new homes and commercial construction.
• Clean drains and grease traps, dig ditches, and haul debris.
• Keep job sites clear of tools and debris during and after work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
