About The Position

Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric is actively seeking a high-quality helper to join its Plumbing Service Team. This full-time, entry-level position, located in Louisville, KY, offers a unique opportunity to learn a wide array of valuable skills directly from a Journeyman Plumber. The role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of residential plumbing service, including installations, maintenance, inspections, and light repairs. It is specifically designed for individuals eager to learn the plumbing trade from the ground up, with the primary objective of developing the necessary knowledge, skills, and work habits to evolve into a skilled plumbing professional. This position also provides the pathway to earn hours required to test for a Plumbing Journeyman's license and offers clear opportunities for growth within the company. Starting compensation ranges from $17-$20, with the exact pay determined by skills and experience. Working hours are typically between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required.

  • One (1) year of general labor experience using manual and power-operated tools
  • High school diploma, vocational-technical school diploma, or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Experience with ServiceTitan software

Responsibilities

  • Assist Plumbing Technicians with light repair, maintenance, and installation work
  • Observe and learn all aspects of plumbing systems and building performance services
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and properly inventoried truck
  • Wear floor savers and protect customers’ homes while performing service
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers
  • Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow all company safety standards and best practices
  • Participate actively in training sessions, morning meetings, and team events
  • Follow the company Code of Ethics and Team Rules
  • Remain safety-conscious on job sites and while driving
  • Travel to training sessions or meetings as required (up to 25–50%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
