About The Position

The Plumbing Helper assists licensed plumbers and plumbing technicians with the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of residential and commercial plumbing systems. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience and training while supporting daily operations, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if applicable.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous construction, plumbing, or trade experience.
  • Enrollment in or interest in a plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
  • Prepare work areas and maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
  • Assist with digging trenches, cutting pipe, assembling fittings, and other labor-intensive tasks.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks under supervision, including measuring, cutting, and installing piping.
  • Help diagnose plumbing issues and support repair efforts.
  • Clean and test completed installations and repairs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with clients.
  • Attend training sessions and actively participate in skill development opportunities.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.
