About The Position

Midwestern Mechanical is seeking a Plumbing Foreman to lead job site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to high-quality standards. This role involves supervising crews, coordinating daily work, supporting apprentice training, and maintaining project documentation. The Foreman will work closely with management, applying strong technical plumbing knowledge and leadership skills. Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Good communication skills for communicating with management, city officials, on-site customers, and other employees.
  • Work well under pressure and assist in meeting deadlines.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret written materials.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating materials.
  • Must hold and maintain a state and city Journeyman Plumber license.
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman Plumber license required.
  • Field experience in plumbing as a Foreman required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and small parts.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and outdoor conditions.
  • Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely perform tasks and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Foreman experience in plumbing in commercial applications preferred.
  • Med gas certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a safe manner, ensuring team members are working safely and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Abide by all safety and conduct policies laid out by Midwestern Mechanical and different work sites.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Operate powered equipment including hand tools, stationary machines, and others as required in a safe manner.
  • Make decisions by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Lawfully drive a motor vehicle and maintain a current driver’s license to commute to various job sites.
  • Provide daily direction to assigned team(s) on the job site.
  • Actively participate in training and development of apprentices, ensuring they are participating and up to date with their training.
  • Work with journeymen and apprentices to maximize the apprenticeship training program.
  • Follow and execute directions and assigned duties from the Superintendent.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to drive and build positive morale.
  • Maintain a high-quality initiative while completing assigned duties.
  • Work independently to achieve assigned goals and deadlines.
  • Responsible for all on-site documentation (checklists, safety signoff, service sheets, and other documentation relevant for job completion).
  • Manage all staff timecards (collection, review, sign off, and turn into accounting team).
  • Have clear working knowledge of all positions that report to you.
  • Attend all meetings associated with any given projects as required.
  • Manage and coordinate all staff on any given projects.
  • Available to work extra days as required for the project.
  • Overnight travel as necessary within the region for corporate meetings, on-site projects, and conferences.
