As a Plumbing Estimator you will be expected to prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of commercial plumbing estimating experience, or 5 years of experience as a Plumbing Foreman in commercial construction.
  • Proficiency with plumbing estimating software; experience with FastEST/FastPIPE is preferred.
  • Strong ability to review plans, specifications, and construction documents to identify discrepancies, omissions, and potential conflicts.
  • Experience developing accurate estimates at various stages of project design and completion.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Skilled in performing detailed material and labor takeoffs for all plumbing systems associated with a project.
  • Ability to prepare organized, accurate quantity takeoffs and enter data efficiently into estimating software.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) when needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FastEST/FastPIPE is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed plumbing estimates and proposals for commercial and/or industrial projects.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and client meetings as required.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, drawings, and related documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Develop project-specific estimating strategies and approach plans.
  • Perform material takeoffs, labor analysis, and labor factor adjustments using estimating software.
  • Build and maintain estimating assemblies and databases within estimating systems.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, clients, and internal teams throughout the bidding process.
  • Solicit and evaluate competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring all project requirements and addenda are communicated accurately.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and industry partners.
  • Provide guidance and support in the training and development of team members.
  • Ensure estimates are completed accurately, competitively, and within required deadlines.
