About The Position

WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Draftsman for our Mount Vernon, NY office. WDF Incorporated is one of the largest specialty mechanical contractors in the New York metropolitan area, self-performing HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and specialty general construction. We deliver quality services from the ground up, guided by safety, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Our notable projects include the Time Warner Building, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, Seven World Trade Center and Goldman Sachs' Lower Manhattan Headquarters. This role is crucial for our Mechanical construction team, responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and plans for the Plumbing Trade, working closely with team leaders, Project Managers, and site personnel to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required.
  • 5 years of experience as a Draftsman in a construction environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, Revit , and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Revit experience on large MEP Projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Drafting, or related field from an accredited university desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD MEP, and other relevant software.
  • Draft Plumbing shop drawings, sections, and elevations based on sketches, field notes, and design data.
  • Revise and update drawings as per client or engineer feedback.
  • Coordinate with PM and construction teams to gather and interpret project data.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of drawings and documentation for easy access and revision tracking.
  • Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and basic estimations if required.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings post project completion.
