About The Position

This role is for a mid-level Plumbing Designer who can operate independently, lead coordination, and deliver high-quality designs—not someone still needing heavy oversight. The ideal candidate has strong experience in U.S.-based commercial plumbing design, is confident working in Revit and producing complete plumbing design sets, can manage their workload and meet deadlines without constant supervision, and understands multidisciplinary coordination and can resolve design conflicts. This role offers an opportunity to grow into a Senior Engineer or leadership role.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of MEP plumbing design experience
  • Strong experience with U.S.-based commercial projects
  • Proficiency in Revit for plumbing system design
  • Experience performing plumbing system calculations (water, sanitary, gas)
  • Working knowledge of California Plumbing Code and applicable regulations
  • Ability to work on-site in San Diego or relocate prior to start
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with site utility coordination and infrastructure design
  • Familiarity with California Plumbing Code and local jurisdiction requirements
  • Experience leading coordination meetings
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and review work for quality
  • Strong communication skills when working with internal teams and clients

Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems for commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects
  • Perform domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas system calculations
  • Design piping systems and coordinate site utility connections
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural teams
  • Lead or participate in coordination meetings and resolve design conflicts
  • Respond to plan check comments and construction administration (CA) issues
  • Review work for quality and mentor junior designers as needed
