About The Position

Porter Pipe & Supply is seeking a Plumbing Counter Sales Representative for their location in Chicago, IL, in the West Loop neighborhood. This role is part of the Plumbing Counter Sales Team and requires experience with pipes, valves, and fittings (PVF) and a strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing needs. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in PVF distribution preferred
Prior experience with CSD/TWL and POS systems
Previous forklift operation experience
Strong knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings (PVF)
Great customer service skills
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office
Basic math aptitude and familiarity with POS systems
Forklift experience a plus

Responsibilities

Assist customers with PVF product selections and technical support at the counter
Troubleshoot customer applications and offer expert solutions
Use CSD/TWL for all cash, check, and credit card sales transactions
Prepare reports and maintain accurate sales records
Operate material handling equipment including dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts
Load customer vehicles and ensure safe packing of products
Support warehouse operations and fabrication when needed
Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
