About The Position

Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Plumbing Adjunct Faculty to teach Friday evening and Saturday day classes in the School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). This is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under the Virginia Community College System. The college is located on a 70-acre campus in southwest Roanoke, VA, serving a region that includes Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. Established in 1966, Virginia Western has grown significantly and currently serves over 9,000 students in credit courses and more than 1,400 in workforce and continuing education. The Plumbing Adjunct Faculty will teach college-level courses in-person on the main Virginia Western campus. Courses include Principles of Plumbing Trade I, Principles of Plumbing Trade II, and Plumbing Code and Certification Preparation. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education, and to be active participants in departmental communication. Applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis as needs arise and will continue until positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Experience in plumbing trade.
  • Ability to teach college-level courses.
