About The Position

As a Plumber, you will be an integral part of the organization, expected to understand and uphold the YNHHS Vision, Mission, and Values, which include integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion. Your role will involve engaging in the construction, maintenance, and testing of various equipment and systems as scheduled, assigned, or required. You will also be responsible for completing appropriate records and reports to maintain labor and history files.

Requirements

High School Or Trade School Graduate, With Related Plumbing Courses.
Four Years Of Practical Experience.
Connecticut Journeyman P-2 Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Completes Appropriate Reports And Maintains Daily Records Of Time Spent On Service Requests, Work Orders, Projects, Etc. Provides Information For Production, Progress, Costs Records And Reports.
Perform Light Construction, E.G. Install Domestic Hot & Cold Water Piping Plumbing Fixtures.
Repairs Pumps & Compressors And Other Related Equipment.
Perform Preventable Maintenance Tasks And Customer Work Order Requests.
Follow State And Local Building Codes And Nfpa Code Requirements.
Subject To "On-Call"/"Call-In" After Hours Requirements To Support Emergencies.
Read And Interpret Blue Prints.
Repair Hot Water/Steam Heating Systems And Associated Piping
Demonstrate Proficiency At Repairing Medical Air/Gas/Vacuum Piping Systems And Valves.
Work With Outside Vendors And Agencies.
Coordinate Activities With Customers To Minimize Disruptions To Hospital Services.
Provide Leadership And Direction For Accomplishment Of Work When Assigned As Crew Leader.
Assist And Guide The Efforts Of Lower Level Technicians.
Assist Other Trades As Required.
Demonstrates Knowledge Of Electrical, Fire And Environmental Safety Policies And Procedures As They Apply To The Work Environment.
Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.
