About The Position

Performs multiple tasks relating to the plumbing trade throughout the hospital and facilities' supported areas. This role involves general plumbing repairs, drain cleaning, steam boiler repairs, testing and preventative maintenance (PM), pump repairs and PM tasks associated with plumbing systems, and daily tasks associated with testing and maintaining the utility systems. The position also requires responding to emergency codes and procedures as assigned, and performing other maintenance-related tasks as directed by the department's needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
• Plumber - Journeyman's certification or Master Plumber's license required upon hire
• CHFT - Certified Healthcare Facilities Technician (CHFT) through the Institute for Healthcare Facilities Engineering Advancement (IFHEA) required upon hire
• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
