About The Position

This position works under general supervision, performing work in the installation, modification, remodel, and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment and fixtures for various systems including water, gas, oil, steam, sewage, fire sprinkler/prevention, and refrigeration-related plumbing systems.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: WV: Plumbers License through the West Virginia Department of Labor.
  • Mechanical Aptitude test (to be completed as established by department).

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of all hospital plumbing systems.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and tests plumbing systems; assembles, installs, and repairs pumps, pipes fittings, and fixtures; performs pump alignment, cuts, threads, and welds pipes; assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
  • Supervises general maintenance workers by allocating and coordinating workflow, training, and advising on more complex plumbing repair work throughout the hospital.
  • Provides skilled preventive and corrective repair work throughout the hospital.
  • Has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms, with the understanding that they are not responsible for medications and should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
  • Performs other maintenance duties as directed.
