About The Position

Will install and maintain various plumbing systems including, but not limited to, sanitary waste, storm drain, potable water, acid waste, and waste neutralization systems. Will service and maintain plant and instrument compressed air systems, low and medium pressure steam systems, and hot water heating systems. Will install and maintain the following piping system: steam/condensate, chilled water, process cooling, plant/instrument air, refrigerant, and process gas. Will provide 24-hour emergency response as necessary in support of mechanical systems. Will assist fellow trade and service workers as required.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber’s license
  • 5 years experience in the plumbing field required.
  • The ability to read construction drawings and process and instrumentation drawings (P & ID’s) is required.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, staging, work platforms, and/or tight, confined spaces such as manholes.
  • Ability to crawl over and around equipment located in building pipe chases and mechanical rooms or construction areas.
  • Must be able to work all shifts as required by MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
  • Required to work during the site wide semi-annual steam plant facilities maintenance shutdowns.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Massachusetts Journeyman Pipefitter’s license with a minimum of 3 years experience is desired.
