Job Summary Summary Ensure all plumbing systems operate as designed, including routine installations, maintenance, and testing of equipment and systems, calibrations, and repair and related piping. Work on special projects and programs to support construction and renovation projects. Monitor the installation and repair of equipment and systems by contractors during construction and renovation projects. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes
  • Journeyman Plumber [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Plumbing service experience 2-3 years required
  • Knowledge of plumbing supplies and equipment, and the ability to read blueprints and piping diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes.
  • Working knowledge of automated building maintenance systems.
  • Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft Office applications are preferred, with the ability to learn new software.
  • Maintain variable work schedule to meet the needs of the department (e.g., evenings, holidays, weekends, on-call).

Responsibilities

  • Piping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam, and air are installed, repaired, and maintained per department standards.
  • Replacement parts, materials, and tools are ordered and maintained to meet the needs of work orders.
  • Emergency and routine repairs are responded to within department time frames.
  • Stock and material lists are prepared to complete work order requests and other routine work.
  • Daily rounds are completed to ensure mechanical equipment is functioning and malfunctions are reported to appropriate parties.
  • Documentation reflects repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments as per department and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assistance is provided to the various trades in the installation, maintenance, or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems, and various other duties per department standards.
  • Preventive maintenance program is performed and maintained per established time frames.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
