About The Position

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS) is seeking reliable, safety-conscious, experienced Plumbers to work full-time supporting Naval operations at a local Naval facility in Kittery, Maine. SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 150 employees nationwide, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, specializing in professional services for federal and military organizations. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of verified experience. The ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating with a team and conduct themselves with decorum, as they will be working on U.S. federal government property and interacting with federal employees and service members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of verified experience as a Plumber.
  • Commercial experience is required.
  • Possession of a valid Real ID in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Knowledge of how various high-pressure piping systems and equipment are installed and operate.
  • Ability to plan and lay out the installation, modification, and repair of various new and existing piping systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work from and interpret blueprints, plans, sketches, and other specifications to locate piping system malfunctions.
  • Ability to utilize building plans/blueprints to lay out the routing, placement, pitch, incline, and elevation of systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a thorough background check for access onto a military installation (extends past 7 years).

Responsibilities

  • Correcting life safety and Environment of Care workplace deficiencies.
  • Working with pipes and fittings from a range of high pressure to low pressure steam.
  • Inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems, steam operated equipment, heating and water systems, waste lines, kitchen and laundry equipment, air compressors, medical compressed air systems, vacuum systems, oxygen systems, and natural gas distribution systems.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and manufacturers' specifications for installing and repairing equipment.
  • Making safety and preventive maintenance inspections of utility systems and equipment in accordance with company regulations and National Codes.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Planning, laying out, fabricating, and installing mechanical utility distribution systems.
  • Determining appropriate pipe compositions for projects.
  • Planning, laying out, and installing piping systems and equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.
  • Installing, modifying, and repairing potable water, sanitary sewer, compressed air, and high-pressure steam systems.
  • Ensuring pressure-tight joints, such as compression, flared, threaded, flange, bolted flange, welded, and soldered.
  • Performing minor welding repairs and fabrication requiring the use of oxygen, acetylene, arc welding, and pipe welding.
  • Installing pipes with necessary hangers, brackets, and other necessary support to ensure proper pitch and elevation of pipes.
  • Installing/repairing various high-pressure piping systems and equipment (e.g., steam, heating, steam generation, vacuum systems, radiators, and circulating pumps) to ensure proper operation.
  • Using all personal protective gear provided, including but not limited to hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses/eye protection, safety hard-toed shoes, respiratory protection, and fall protection.
