Under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor, assist in achieving departmental goals by using hand and power tools to fabricate and repair items according to sketches, diagrams, or manufacturer specifications. This role involves providing lead supervision for project helpers, coordinating and assigning specific job duties, and ensuring the quality and thoroughness of their work. The Plumber interprets and clarifies work order requests for all plumbing duties, evaluates them for regulatory code compliance, and provides timeframes and cost estimates for completion. They are responsible for ordering and evaluating material inventory to maintain stock levels, drawing rough sketches for clarity, and measuring items or areas for fabrication or vendor quotes. The position requires using hand and power tools, job-related equipment, and assembling/installing vendor-submitted equipment to meet design specifications. Additionally, the Plumber performs certification testing of backflow prevention devices, submits certifications to regulatory agencies, and performs other related duties as assigned to meet departmental goals. Maintaining regular and predictable attendance is also a requirement.
